My story
I was born and grew up in a small town in the Italian Alps, in a region known for its natural beauty and gentle pace of life. Although I can’t say for sure where my love of languages came from, I still remember with great fondness Sandy, Sue and Monsieur André Bury, the fictional characters of my first English and French school textbooks.
I have also always enjoyed writing, whether articles, essays or short stories, and even managed to win a few writing competitions when I was younger.
Motivated by my passion for languages and communication, I went on to study Modern Languages at Milan University. As part of my degree course, I spent a year in London, where I researched and completed my final dissertation while at the same time supporting myself through a variety of jobs.
I also attended a residential course at La Rochelle Université and further consolidated my knowledge of French and love of French culture through several extended trips to Paris and Provence.
Once I graduated, I decided to move back to London and, gradually, England became my home. After spending a year working as an academic buyer for a bookstore chain, I was then employed as a multi-lingual coordinator by an international company with offices in Milan, Paris, Brussels, and London.
After that I launched my career as a freelance language consultant and course provider, and I was fortunate enough to collaborate with several banking institutions, law firms, advertising agencies, as well as Chelsea Football Club and the BBC.
This was followed by a few years of language teaching in schools, while I was also growing my translation business, which then became my sole focus.
I live just outside of London with my British husband, our two children and our dog. When I am not juggling words, I like baking cakes, doing yoga, walking in nature, writing for pleasure, reading, and seeing friends. I also spend time in Italy as often as I can.
