Proofreading and Editing
A perfectionist streak and a keen eye for details are my most faithful allies when checking the fluency and accuracy of a finished translation. Once completed a project, I generally let it ‘rest’ for 24 hours, and then go back to it with a detective’s determination to ensure that my new Italian version of your precious content is coherent, grammatically correct, consistent in its terminology and that it fully conveys its original message. This is the editing stage. At proofreading stage, I give the translation a thorough, final check to look for any spelling, punctuation or formatting mistakes that might have escaped me before.
I will follow the same procedure if your content has been machine translated, and you need it checked by a trusty pair of human eyes. As we all know, any automatically produced translation will almost certainly contain mistakes likely to amuse or confuse your Italian audience, negatively impact your message, affect your SEO ranking and, in the worst case scenario, lead to dire consequences.
